One of the most prominent contemporary artists of the Czech visual scene, Pasta Oner, will cheer up the cultural happenings in Marbella. This renowned artist will hold an exhibition in SIN Studio Gallery Marbella, a glass sculpture gallery, which founded a new sector to present the works of famous Czech and international artists to the south-Spanish public, all that under the patronage of the Czech Embassy.
Pasta Oner, with his real name Zdenek Randa, was born in 1979 in Trencin, Czech Republic. As a creative personality, he has been profiled in recent years within the boundaries of classic independent and public gallery operations, in which he combines and at the same time transcends the classic genre categories of pop art and cartoon aesthetics. Despite the fact that at the core of his work he touches on the principles of “post-production”, the work is different against the current dominant currents of post-conceptual strategies in the visual arts; the focus of Pasta’s work is acrylic painting and the creation of hanging paintings, as well as the design of spatial objects, sculptures, installations and the realization of murals in form of large-format paintings in public spaces. The author places the traditional themes of fascination with the world of wealth, sex, faith, luxury brands and consumer beauty into the new and current context of the cyber society, the world of exponentially increasing speed of information transfer and clip aesthetics of everyday experience.
The exhibition “Happy Meal” by Pasta Oner will take place from the 10th of May until the 31st of July 2024 in SIN Studio Gallery, located on the main avenue in Marbella. The visitors can look forward to huge pop art canvases and astonishing glass sculptures created as a collaboration through SIN Studio Gallery’s unique glass casting technology. This big cultural event will start with a ceremonial preview on the 9th of May 2024 and will be inaugurated by the artist himself and the representatives of the Czech Embassy in Madrid.
